Free Fair Offered for Van Nuys Small Business Owners
John Chiang, Vice Chair, State Board of Equalization
(BOE) announced today that several federal, state, and local
government agencies will team up to offer a free, one-day
tax fair to Van Nuys area small businesses. Designed to
be a one-stop source of business and tax information for
small business owners, these fairs have been met with rave
reviews. Business owners receive a wealth of information
and are given the opportunity to talk to the experts. If
you are a small business owner, you won't want to miss this
fair.

Time: 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Van Nuys Small Business Fair will start at 8:30 a.m.
with opening remarks by
Mr. Chiang. Council Member Frank Quintero, representing the
City of Glendale, is also scheduled to address the small businesses
in attendance. The fair will include general information sessions,
as well as workshops tailored to suit the needs of the small
business owner.

Representatives of the BOE, Employment Development Department,
Franchise Tax Board, Internal Revenue Service, Small Business
Development Center, as well as other local, state, and federal
agencies will be present to answer taxpayer questions.
