Claude Parrish, Chairman, State Board of Equalization, announced that the Board Meetings previously scheduled for September 12 and 13, 2001, were cancelled in light of the horrific events of September 11, 2001, and the resulting travel restrictions.

The Board has scheduled a meeting for September 26, 2001, which will include only a portion of those items that were to be addressed at the previously scheduled meeting. The meeting will include the following items:

1. Customer Services and Administrative Efficiency Committee
2. Public Hearings for Proposed Rule 206, 905, 1660 and 1661
3. Closed Session
4. Chief Counsel Matters
5. Non-Appearance Tax Matters
6. Administrative Session
7. Committee Report

The Public Agenda Notice for the September 26, 2001 meeting will be released later this week.All other items including tax hearings and committee meetings are being held over for the October meetings. BOE staff will contact affected taxpayers to reschedule these hearings.
