Last Day to File for Assessment Appeal
Apply for Reduction by September 15
Property taxpayers are reminded they have until Friday, September
15, 2000, to file an application for a property tax assessment
reduction. Depending upon the county, the form for assessment
appeals may be obtained from the clerk of the assessment appeals
board(s) or the clerk of the board of supervisors.
Questions regarding the assessment of a taxpayer's property
should be directed to the county assessor's office. If the
taxpayer does not agree with the assessor and wishes to appeal,
the formal appeal process begins with the filing of a timely
application.
Questions regarding the property assessment appeals process
should be directed to the clerk of the board in the county
where the property is located.
