BOE Announces New Electronic Funds Transfer (Eft) Program for Special Taxes
The Board announced today that it is now possible to make
payments for most special tax and fee programs by Electronic
Funds Transfer (EFT), rather than through the use of paper
checks. Until recently, only sales and use tax accounts could
use this electronic payment method.
The Special Taxes Department EFT program offers two optional
Automated Clearing House (ACH) methods for payments: ACH debit,
a pay-by-phone program set-up through the state's bank, and
ACH credit, a transaction arranged by you with your financial
institution. With the ACH debit payment method, you can also
choose to communicate with the state's data collection service
by personal computer.
If you want to make payments by EFT, you must first complete
an EFT authorization agreement form for each special tax or
fee account you wish to register. After your registration
request is approved, you can electronically make prepayments,
return payments, and accounts receivable payments.
For general information or to obtain an EFT authorization
agreement form for special tax or fee programs, you may contact
us at http://www.boe.ca.gov/info/email.html
or call the division that administers your particular
program between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday,
excluding State holidays.
