Parrish Announces E-File Program For Sales And Use Tax Returns
Claude Parrish, Chairman, State Board of Equalization (BOE) announced today
that BOE now offers taxpayers the option to electronically file (E-File) their
sales and use tax returns via the Internet. E-Filing offers taxpayers a convenient,
fast, and accurate way to file their sales and use tax returns.
Taxpayers who currently file Form BOE-401-A, with Schedule A only; or Form
BOE-401-EZ; and who conduct business at a single location are eligible to E-File.
For additional information about the E-File Program, taxpayers can visit BOE's
website at www.boe.ca.gov/elecsrv/elecsrvcont.
To E-File a return, taxpayers must select a service provider listed on BOE's
website. The service provider will then provide specific instructions on enrollment,
filing, and the electronic payment process. Service providers have been authorized
by the BOE to receive return and payment information and transmit that information
in real time to BOE for processing. Service providers may charge a convenience
fee for this service; however, this fee is revenue to the service provider
and is not payable to the BOE.
E-Filing provides another convenient option for taxpayers to file their sales
and use tax returns.
For general information on BOE's E-File Program, taxpayers
can call the BOE Information Center at 800-400-7115.
