Free Tax Seminar on Nonprofit And Exempt Organizations Scheduled
for March 9
John Chiang, Member, State Board of Equalization (BOE) announced today that
he is teaming up with Norwalk City Councilmember Rudy Bermudez to offer a free
tax seminar on Thursday, March 9, 2000. The topic of the seminar is How
to Obtain 501(c)(3) Status for Your Organization and State Exemption Requirements.
The seminar will be held from 6:30 p.m. until 10:00
p.m. at the Norwalk Arts & Sports
Complex, 13000 Clarkdale Avenue, in the City of Norwalk. Agencies invited to
participate include the Internal Revenue Service, BOE, Franchise Tax Board,
the Secretary of State, and the Employment Development Department. Additional
topics to be discussed include:
- Sales and Use Tax and the Nonprofit/Exempt Organization and Employment Tax
Responsibilities.
