Former Astronaut Touches Down in Escondido to Deliver
Keynote Address at 'Connecting Women to Power' Conference

Sacramento – Diane Harkey welcomes keynote speaker Heidemarie Stefanyshyn-Piper, a former NASA astronaut, to the free Connecting Women to Power Business Conference on Thursday, November 3, 2016, at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido.

The event brings together established entrepreneurs and leaders from major corporations, government agencies and key organizations to share ways of positioning women business owners to better compete in today’s global marketplace. Women entrepreneurs will have the chance to form key alliances and affiliations, while getting the latest information on industry trends and discovering how to propel their business. Men are welcome to attend.

The conference features over 60 women speakers who are experts and leaders in the fields of business, government and nonprofits. Speakers and breakout session presenters include:

Chair Diane L. Harkey was elected to the Board of Equalization in November 2014 to represent the Fourth Equalization District, which includes approximately 9.5 million Californians located in Orange, Riverside, San Diego, and Imperial counties, and a portion of San Bernardino County. Previously, Ms. Harkey served in the California State Assembly from 2008 to 2014. As a Member of the State Assembly, she served as Vice Chair for the Assembly Committees on Revenue and Taxation and Appropriations. Ms. Harkey graduated with a degree in Economics from the University of California, Irvine.
