Chairwoman Fiona Ma Launches Educational Webinar Series

Making Sales in California webinar provides helpful tips for businesses

Sacramento – As a business owner, do you need help understanding California tax laws when you make a sale? California State Board of Equalization (BOE) Chairwoman Fiona Ma, CPA is launching her educational web series by hosting her first free webinar, "Tips for Making Sales in California," on September 13, 2016 at 10 a.m.

"Taxpayers are busy running their businesses," said Chairwoman Ma. "This easy-to-use online format will allow individuals the flexibility to learn BOE tips about making sales, at their convenience, from their computer, laptop, or mobile device."

This webinar is designed to help business owners and future entrepreneurs learn how to register and what kinds of permits you need with the BOE, how to accurately file and make a payment, what to do if you have a home-based business, and how you can find more information about your industry or business.

The five-member California State Board of Equalization (BOE) is a publicly elected tax board. The BOE collects $60.5 billion annually in taxes and fees supporting state and local government services. It hears business tax appeals, acts as the appellate body for franchise and personal income tax appeals, and serves a significant role in the assessment and administration of property taxes.
