Free Small Business Seminar Coming to Tehama
Tehama – Business owners, entrepreneurs, and people who would like to learn about running a successful business are invited to attend a free Small Business and Resource Expo in Tehama on Wednesday, September 14, 2016.
California State Board of Equalization (BOE) Chairwoman Fiona Ma, CPA, and BOE Member George Runner are sponsoring the event with Senator Jim Nielsen, Assemblyman James Gallagher, Tehama County Supervisor Candy Carlson, and Red Bluff Mayor Clay Parker.
Seminar topics include avoiding sales and use tax problems, determining if someone is an employee or independent contractor, recordkeeping, and forms of ownership. Representatives from the BOE, U.S. Small Business Administration, Employment Development Department, Franchise Tax Board, Internal Revenue Service, Small Business Development Center, and GO-Biz have been invited to conduct presentations and answer questions.
"These seminars are designed to give business owners the tools they need to better understand California's tax laws," said Chairwoman Ma. "Our knowledgeable staff are there to answer questions to help you be successful."
"Small businesses are a critical part of California's economy," said Member Runner. "Our goal is to help business owners be successful by ensuring they understand California's complicated tax laws."
