"There Oughta Be A Law" Outreach Initiative

  • Do you have an idea that would innovate or improve the administration of tax and fee programs at the BOE?
  • Do you have a solution to address an apparent disparity in the fairness of any BOE-administered law, regulation or administrative policy?
  • Do you have a suggestion that would change the way the BOE does business in order to ease the tax compliance burden on small business?

I am pleased and excited to announce a new program in my District to give you an opportunity to make a difference by providing a new platform to have your voice directly heard.  The new “There Oughta Be A Law” outreach initiative is an avenue for taxpayers and stakeholders to communicate ideas to ease tax compliance burden directly to the Members of the Board.

As we are mindful that jobs and the economy are everyone’s top concern, we want to hear your perspective on how to simplify, improve, and reduce the cost to comply with the tax codes. We want to help your bottom line by reducing any unnecessary and redundant tasks so that you can redirect those efforts to your core business. No one knows the changes needed better than those directly impacted. In this regard, we are looking for not only changes requiring Legislative action to reduce the compliance burden, but also for any changes that we can implement administratively or by regulation at the BOE.
