HORTON: Ms. Olson. 6 MS. OLSON: Our next item is P.1, CROS project 7 update and action. 8 MR. STEEN: Honorable Members, Mr. Chairman, 9 Eric Steen, CROS Project Director. It's my pleasure to 10 give you -- to provide an update on the CROS project to 11 you. 12 I have three items I wish to address. The 13 first is the schedule. The second is General Services 14 feedback on our information technology procurement plan 15 and thirdly is the initiatives. 16 As far as the schedule goes, we are 58 percent 17 complete with the requested proposal. And we're on 18 target to have a draft completed by July and submit the 19 final in October to the vendor community. 20 Regarding the feedback from General Services 21 regarding our ITPP, General Services has recommended 22 that we extend the schedule by roughly 12 and a half 23 months for the procurement to accommodate more time for 24 vendor responses and for proposal of evaluation. 25 We will be meeting with General Services. And 26 we will be recommending some sort of an alternative -- 27 what we feel is reasonable approach, somewhat of 28 compromise, that will only extend the schedule roughly 3 1 five and a half months. 2 I should add that we are very interested in 3 keeping a brisk pace, making forward progress, but also 4 working with General Services, partnering with them as 5 this is their procurement ultimately. And, of course, 6 we are interested in implementing the best possible 7 solution for the Board of Equalization and the State of 8 California and the taxpayer. 9 And, lastly, we move forward -- we're moving 10 forward with the initiatives, date of readiness and 11 interfaces, which are going to mitigate risk and support 12 conversion and business intelligence. 13 May I answer any questions about the CROS 14 project? 15 MR. HORTON: Discussion, Members? 16 Hearing none, thank you very much for your 17 presentation. 18 MR. STEEN: Thank you very much. 19 ---o0o--- 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 4 1 REPORTER'S CERTIFICATE. 2 3 State of California ) 4 ) ss 5 County of Sacramento ) 6 7 I, JULI PRICE JACKSON, Hearing Reporter for the 8 California State Board of Equalization certify that on 9 JANUARY 11, 2012 I recorded verbatim, in shorthand, to 10 the best of my ability, the proceedings in the 11 above-entitled hearing; that I transcribed the shorthand 12 writing into typewriting; and that the preceding pages 1 13 through 1 constitute a complete and accurate 14 transcription of the shorthand writing. 15 16 Dated: FEBRUARY 7, 2012 17 18 19 ____________________________ 20 JULI PRICE JACKSON 21 Hearing Reporter 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 5
