YEE: Our next item, please? 6 MS. OLSON: Our next item is P5, Administration 7 Deputy Director's Report. 8 MS. YEE: Okay. 9 MS. HOUSER: Good afternoon, Madam Chair and 10 Members. 11 I'm Liz Houser, Deputy Director Administration. 12 Remediation work at the 450 N Street 13 headquarters building continues. There are two floors 14 remaining to be remediated. The project is on schedule 15 for close-out in March of 2011. 16 The elevator modernization project continues 17 and is on schedule for completion in September of 2011. 18 Do to the responsiveness of ThyssenKrupp's 19 executive management, the elevators no longer stop 20 unnecessarily at each floor. With this improvement, 21 wait and ride times have been reduced. 22 We ask for your continued patience as the work 23 is completed. 24 The move of approximately 300 employees to the 25 third headquarters annex in the Opus building at 160 26 Promenade Circle in Natomas is underway and is scheduled 27 for completion by January 10th. 28 The following units will be located in this 3 1 building: The Customer Service, Publishing Division and 2 Web Services section of External Affairs Department; the 3 County and State Assessed Properties Divisions of the 4 Property and Special Taxes Department; the Centralized 5 Collection Section Tax Source In-state Service Program 6 of the Sales and Use Tax Department; and the Training 7 and Career Development branch of the Administration 8 Department. 9 In addition, BOE has received approval from the 10 Department of Finance and the Department of General 11 Services to move staff from our San Diego and San Marcos 12 offices to new locations. DGS has identified a number 13 of properties for our consideration. And the site 14 selection team will conduct our initial visits in 15 January. I will provide an update at the January or 16 February meeting. 17 Are there any questions on the facilities? 18 MS. STEEL: Just -- I just want to say thank 19 you for San Diego office because I can not even mention 20 how ugly that building is and I'm glad that we don't 21 have any lawsuits, you know, from the employees because 22 it just -- we cannot really accept that, you know, 23 building for our office. 24 And we are really looking for it. And January 25 I'm going out with the search crew and I am very happy 26 about it. 27 Thank you very much. 28 MS.
