OLSON: Our next item is P5, 6 Administration's Deputy Director reports. 7 MS. YEE: Okay. Good afternoon, Ms. Houser. 8 MS. HOUSER: Good afternoon, Madam Chairwoman 9 and Members. 10 I'm Liz Houser, Deputy Director for 11 Administration. My first item is facilities update. 12 The remediation work at 450 N Street continues. 13 Remediation has ben completed on 16 of the 22 floors. 14 DGS anticipates completion of the project by mid-March 15 of 2011. 16 The elevator modernization continues on 17 schedule. The estimated completion date is October 18 2011. Throughout the project, one elevator from the 19 lower bank and one elevator from the upper bank will be 20 out of service. In addition, during some phases of the 21 project, two elevators may be temporarily out of 22 service. Longer wait times may be experienced by staff. 23 And we want to thank them for their patience during 24 these times. 25 As discussed at our previous meetings, we are 26 in the process of relocating 6 to 700 employees into 27 three headquarters annex locations in the greater 28 Sacramento area. 3 1 All staff have been successfully relocated to 2 the West Sacramento and 621 Capitol Mall annex 3 locations. 4 For third annex location at 160 Promenade, 5 tenant improvements continue and we are on track for a 6 move date of -- tentatively scheduled for December of 7 2010. 8 I would be happy to answer any questions you 9 have on the facilities or annex locations. 10 MS. YEE: Okay, thank you, Ms. Houser. 11 Questions, Members? 12 MR. HORTON: Yes. 13 MS. YEE: Mr. Horton, please? 14 MR. HORTON: Ms. Houser, it's not a question 15 relative to this, but it just brought to mind a 16 discussion about AB 151. 17 And in that process, I think it's -- I just 18 want to share to comment. I mean, I think it's wise 19 that we share as the bill moves forward to the 20 Governor's office. 21 I think it's wise that we share with the 22 Governor's office the potential remediation cost 23 associated with the building, as well as any anticipated 24 legislative -- I mean, any anticipated legal liability 25 that may result as a result of the health care 26 challenges that are being alleged relative to the 27 building. 28 Just a comment. 4 1 MS.
