            5            MS. YEE:  Let's reconvene the meeting.  

            6            Before we get to the next case, Mr. Leonard, 

            7   thank you for bringing to our attention the -- we've 

            8   just learned on the news that William Bennett, who was a 

            9   long serving Member of this body, the State Board of 

           10   Equalization, passed away on February 9th.  

           11            And we just wanted to acknowledge his 

           12   longstandng career and contributions to the State of 

           13   California, which began in 1949 as a Deputy State 

           14   Attorney General and spanned until 1992 when he left the 

           15   Board of Equalization after, I believe, seven terms.  

           16            MR. LEONARD:  Six or seven.

           17            MS. YEE:  Six or seven terms.

           18            But I just wanted to express our sympathy and 

           19   condolences to his family.
