(SACRAMENTO)-- State Board of Equalization member Bill Leonard today announced the upcoming Hot Topics scheduled for the March 26th Board of Equalization meeting.
- Should the BoE remove Prop 13 protections for independent electric generator facilities?
- Will Nicolas Cage's yacht be exempt from sales and use tax as a non-California vessel?
- In the day's largest single disputed tax case, will Polaroid Corporation be assessed over $3,000,000 plus interest?
- Will California participate in the national Streamlined Sales Tax Project? It is a direct assault on the current Internet taxation ban.
-Will the board amend the property tax rules and allow domestic partners to be treated as spouses for purposes of avoiding re-assessment upon the death of one partner? This case will weaken Prop 22, if adopted.
